Mo talked me into going out today and I picked up 6 bass, 5 small ones and this. While not exactly a pig, for the pond I was fishing in it is a decent fish, over 18" and around 2.5 lbs.

Nice bass Tom! That "window" in the storms just sounded like an opportunity to me...looks like it payed off.

I have got to figure out this picture thing because I have some good ones. Went out on Sunday and hit 2 real nice largemouth. Both were 19in the first was 4.46lbs and the second was 3.44lbs witch was great. First was the biggest that I have caught. Witch was great because I was out with my buddy that I fish with all the time. Last year he wouldn’t shut up about having the biggest bass. So now it’s my turn. I’ll try my best to get some pic’s up here

You guys are knockin' em outta the park. I fished this weekend and did something I rarely do. I ate some. I wish my family like fish, cause I sure do, but it seems like a waste to make a meal for me and then have my wife make another meal for the family.

Now how about you sending me ALL the ones you took...............Oh wait you didn't take any did you !!!!!   and you have the nerve to give us a HARD time for NOT taking any on Monday when we were just lucky to get OFF the water without a lighting bolt up our BUTT !!!!! and a hard rain even when we covered the boat !!!!!!!.......Thanks Buddy !!!!!!!

OK I caught little fish last night. I used the popper/dropper like in the magazine for crappie. Ya know what? It did just like they said it would gills on the dropper & crappie on the surface.

You're right Rodrigo...that tandem rig works great for crappie and 'gills. I've been using it for over 30 years(I first saw this rig explained in Bassmaster magazine when I was a kid). I've mentioned the rig a few times in these forums. My most memorable fish on this rig was a channel cat(I think it was a cat...never saw it). I saw a big swirl behind the front lure and figured a bass just missed. Then the front lure screamed backward and under...the fish had taken the little trailing popper! I could tell by the way the fish felt, and the fact it stayed on bottom, that this was a cat. As soon as I tried to bring him my way, the 8lb. test gave way. This is just one of many memorable experiences with the tandem topwater rig...enjoy!

I fished a new lake today, and tried the popper/dropper again. I caught a handful of fish, but the memorable one was the teensy weensy bass that hit the dropper. This bitty little bass was about the size of a Rapala HJ-6. It almost got cast back, but then I saw it.

BTW Mike, I like this set up, but your story reminded me of catching a bunch of channel cats on poppers. My Sis's neighbor's pond was my favorite place to fish for a while, because, no matter what fish always bit. No matter what. The biggest bass was 5.5# and they hit everything. It was the perfect little confidence builder. Anyway, one evening about dusk, the channel cats began slamming the poppers. My nephew, brother in law and I landed cats on topwater. It was incredibly funny. I'd never heard of anyone doing that before, posted it on this site and a bunch of ppl said it had happened to them. A year or two ago, this little pond was swept clean of all bass and cats and the weeds have come in fierce. Keep us posted when you receive the tie.

Rodrigo,
Sounds like you're having a ball with the Popper/dropper tandem rig. I got the tie yesterday...so I'll be getting out with it in tow soon. When I post results, I'm going to start a new "tie thread", since the current one is all screwed up. It doesn't look like the club is going to fix it either...I don't think any staff members have even looked at the forums in months.
