The cast came off today and the crutches are no longer in use.  Anyone want to buy em?  Three weeks with a boot and I'm back on the water, just not this river or trail.

The picture above was courtesy of Prober who is having a tough time loading it.

Here is the path Dave was on when he fell breaking his leg. It doesn't look too bad in this picture because it's viewed from above. It really didn't seem that bad in person either although I'd estimate it's probably near a 50º incline. This is just a reminder to all of us- be CAREFUL. Hazards await us around every corner! I wish you all well- a successful fishing trip and a safe return home to tell us all about it! (Posted for Prober)

It's a steep SOB with plenty of mud and slick rocks.  It didn't seem bad to him cause he was just standing there holding my rod while I writhed in pain, screaming.  Just kidding, just one wrong step and bam.  Problem is, I usually bounce better than this trip.

Last night I went to Blue Marsh with my son-in-law, Lanny. I had a couple of good hits but didn't get them to the boat, but Lanny managed to get this crappie in...

Photobucket

Lanny lost a nice bass at the boat and also had several hits.  He was using lipless Rapala crankbaits and I was using paddletailed minnows and Rapala Dt16,10,6...  Next time!

I went out with a friend today who has been dabbling in fishing for some time now, I was shocked when he agreed to go out at 7 this morning. Brought in some nice fish, 4 bass on a Rainbow Trout Little Cleo and a bluegill and a crappie on my specialty fly. A good day, and now I feel awake at 10 AM on a Saturday. That's a new one!

Just got back from my three day fishing trip with my uncle...we caught a bunch of stocked trout, crappie and 'gills, and bass. No really big bass...lots of 2 and 3 pounders...below are a few. The first pic of the bass with that crankbait in its mouth...that is my hand carved Lil' Dave...made by dbarnett1 from Missouri.

This photo is of Timber Ridge lake...where the bass above came from. It is also the lake where we caught the trout.

Here's another shot of Timber Ridge...this lake is spring fed...maintains a cool temperature through summer...the only local lake here in southern Ohio I know of that stocked trout actually survive in year round.

This pic is of Tycoon lake...one of the top bass lakes in Ohio. It is shallow and loaded with stumps and pads.

Here's a bass from Tycoon...they were really eating the plastic worms there...just couldn't stick any over three pounds.

Ahh...the sun sets on another successful trip!

Went to Scioto Trails today. Its a small lake, about 13 acres. A cold front started blowing in, so the bite was slow, but I did manage to pick up four bass. A shorty, a 12", a 15", and a 19". The first photo  is the 15" fish caught it on a 10" Yum Ribbontail in green pumpkin.

This next one I got the tape out for...it was 19" and 3.5 pounds. Caught it on a purple 7" Powerworm.

The 12" fish hit a KVD 1.5 and the short fish hit the same worm as the 3.5 pounder. This little bridge pictured below is where I caught all but the shorty.
