Hey Pegs, Nice to see you're still swimming around here. I agree with you on the unreasonable expectations, but when it comes to the product testing I don't think those in particular are unreasonable at all. The Club has been advertising it in such a manner that it leads you to believe that EVERYONE gets a free product test every month. Can you blame folks for being upset when they receive nothing after months and months of waiting? The club brought this on itself by utilizing shady marketing techniques. If they want to fix it and reclaim their former glory then they need to get back to their roots and stop grubbing after the industry scraps and what few pennies we members have left after Uncle Sam comes to collect his share of what he earned by pimping us out. Make it about fishing again, instead of about all the products we can't afford. |

I've almost given up on testing products. I check the BB now and then and try to keep in touch with some of the members. The members is what the real benefit is. It's to bad the club doesn't see that. They could expand it and I'd bet membership would grow. They could do a NAFC expo every year, with celebrity guests, manufacturers, speakers, demonstrations. Oh well we can only dream. |

I must be the exception, because I never got the idea that I would receive an endless stream of products to test. In fact, the 2 worthwhile products I have received have been in line with my initial expectations. A trial membership in some subscription software hardly counts as a "product" to "keep" in my book, and that is in over 5 years of membership. Mr Blank, I do still stop by here from time to time but like so many others, I have found a new place to talk fishing without all the whining and best of all, no profanity or insulting comments. |

I didn't join to test products, I look at that as a bonus. I've learned alot about fishing for differant species I would not have fished for on my own. So I'm happy being a life member. |

A lot of the guys that used to come in here now go to WWW. Outdoor-Fishing .com. They apparently like the chatroom better and kind of abandoned this place for the other site. I guess that's what the NAFC gets for neglecting their site and failing to implement upgrades and improvements. |

Hell, they sold me on a lifetime membership back in 2008, took about 4/5 of the amount they said it cost in payments, screwed up on the billing and were not reflecting my amount paid accurately and I could not get anyone to reply to my emails about it so I chalked this all up as a scam and wrote it off. Here we are some years later and I get some spam email inviting me to join this club and decided to try contacting them to remind them I'm supposed to already BE a member, and ask if anyone every sorted out how much I still owed on my lifetime membership or if they were still determined to burn me. Thankfully SOMEONE had a clue about customer care and reinstated me with a new member number. Hopefully they are going to honor the deal they sold me years ago after all! |

It's very quickly approaching the point where the only good thing about NAFC is the magazine, which was all I really wanted when I joined anyhow. They screw that up and I'm outta here!

I'm not so sure the magazine is even worth it anymore. This magazine has so many more ads than any other fishing magazine that I get. And when was the last time they published a saltwater related article? I emailed customer service a while back if the NAFC had any saltwater related items (books, dvd's) the usual crap..they replied they did, and will send me a list of what (saltwater) they have. The list came in the mail..it was ALL freshwater fishing related material. Go figure! This is a sinking ship, and unfortunately, the Capt and most of it's crew has already abandoned. All that's left are a few deck hands and us members who are locked in the steerage compartment who can't get out. |

Ha ha! Very funny Barresi! That made me laugh! But sadly you maybe right. At the same time though I still have faith that the club will be around for a longtime. If it does somehow go under I will demand my money back! |

I am pretty much done with the club. i am a lifetime member and the magazines get thrown in the trash. I noticed that it is the same stories year after year.
The Club was unable to handle the product testing so they are sending us to a different vendor to do that.
In the beginning it was great and that is why I became a life member. But it has gone South and it is a matter of time before they are outsourcing everything.
Now all they need to do is get some Middle-Eastern to answer your calls and then they will fit all the rest of the garbage that is out there.
