    Recently my favorite spinning rods drag 'clicking' sound has stopped working.
    If you know how to fix this problem please reply -- pictures will be very helpful.

    Additional Details:

    Front drag system
    spinning reel

    If it's a spinning reel, chances are if you remove the spool and look inside you will find a broken spring.

    Yes, on most front drag spinning reels the "clicker" is part of the spool. There is a small spring loaded pawl inside that clicks against a gear type wheel on the shaft. Bass Pro has a mail order service that repairs and sells parts and there is also a place in St Louis that carries a lot of Shimano parts. I can dig up a web address if you PM me

    By now you probably figured this out, but....
    the lever strikes against next tooth on the gear making the clicking noise.
    This is what the clicker looks like on a BPS spinnig reel.

    When the gear tooth on the shaft pushes the lever to one side or the other the spring builds up tension.
    When it releases, the lever strikes against next tooth on the gear making the clicking noise.
