19 days and counting, PA John is likely loading his mule and heading out soon. So he can be there on time.

Yumlin's, Ice cream, BBQ ribs, LM bass, trout, crappie, pike, fireside BS, tentin with my lady, HOT peppers (I gotta remember that "Pure Cap" this trip. 500'000 units of searing endorphin rush), the view of the lake outside the tent window, new lures to try, the newly fixed choke on the outboard, laughs, PA 's mule snorin', that smaliie BAM .... ahhh all will be right in the world VERY VERY SOON!!!!

Can't wait to see ya'll again.

Does anyone know if Champlaign is low water this year...Ive been waitin every year for another low water bushwack in the boat to the creek for some buzzbaiting.   Only seen it like that once in the 9 or 10 yrs Ive been up.  That was the year Josh Turner came out from VA.    Last two years was all Lk G for us.   I need a trip to the fort!

Be good to see you again Wellesley.  You too Robbie.....I guess PA and the mule as well....

Hi Turtle,

Lake Champain is currently at 96'73 above sea level and on the rise. The lowest it has ever been is 92'60 in 1902. It is no where near as high as it was last year. The average for mid may is 98'00, so it is certainly down. Be good to see you and Denise in a couple weeks.

It looks like we're in for another wet meet. Long range prediction is for rain Friday through Tuesday of "our weekend". With gas prices as they are, It makes you wonder if it's really worth it.

But it still aways off. And they have trouble predicting tomorrows weather let alone more than a week out.

I didnt mean to start a big issue here. I use Accuweather and 24 hours ago they predicted 5 days of rain. Today, they say partly sunny Friday and Saturday---rain for Sunday.
So, it's looking up. We all know they cant even predict tomorrows weather accurately. Waiting to see you guys again.

Hey Guys & Gals,
Sorry to say there is no way I can make it this year. Heck! I haven't even had time to get on this site. With the new promotion and added responsibilities I have way too much work. I am currently working 12-14 hour days and am responsible fornumerous new undertakings. There isn't much that could keep me away from this as I've made it 14 years in a row and it pains me so much to miss it and all of you. Gotta feed the family though.
Bright spot in the last year is that Erik is now a PA state trooper so it looks like the mule has an out when PA gets pulled over. Don't know about PA though just the mule. You know animal cruelty and all that.
Will really miss you guys and hope you have great fishing and great weather.
I'll be there next year for sure as many of the programs that I have implemented will be well inplace by then.
It's so sad though I haven't even opened my boat yet. All I can say is retirement gets closer every day and then it's fishing whenever I please.
Robbie, hope those golden years hold up for me. I truly understand what you're saying. Maybe even Erik can make it back next year as he'll have a little time in under his belt.
Send me an email and let me know how all went.
Good luck all! Keep your drags loose...

Congrats on your promotion Pat!!! It's gotta be full tilt to keep you away. I'll try to pick up the slack, with you away the cooler will need a lil help if it's to go home empty. I may even have to brig a six of the SP girl to be sure there is one around the fire. Send my congrats to Eric also. Glad you could find a second to drop in.

Won't be long guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back. The weather was perfect. The lakes were flat and the wind was calm. The fish for atleast Sue and I weren't biting. Pappy got a couple 6lb bass and a bunch of northern's. Ran into fishing-eagle on lake george he had 2 in the box and boated 7 lakers, he said he was skunked of champlain the day before. Sue and I caught one fish each day. Water temp on champlain was 66 and on george 54. Pappy showed up with his nephew and a guy from work. Weldon showed up 5 minutes after Sue and I. Turtle and Denise came in thursday night. Robbie stopped by Friday night and left a note to meet at the TI ramp Saturday. Not sure when Pa John showed up he was sleeping saturday when I stopped by. Sue and I camped over by the ramp more room for both camper and boat. Plus great view of the lake. Bill and Sally were suppose to come but weren't there when I left. No Rick he canceled. Most were going home Tuesday. So I hope the good weather continues and the fish start biting.

We have now held our NAFC NorthEast Meet 13 years in a row and I think the weather this year was the best we have ever had. We usually have rain and cold. This year was sunny and warm every day. The lake conditions were great too. Lake level was perfect, down about 6 feet from the flooding we experienced last year. Lake was perfectly flat, unusual for Lake Champlain.
It was great seeing Pappy, PA John, Weldon, and Carl again and also meeting the new guys whose names I cant remember. The only downer to this years meet was that Patrick couldn;t make it. Patrick has been with us from the beginning and was really missed. Maybe next year.
Oh, yes, the fishing was fantastic too, lots of smallmouth bass and Northern Pike. I'm already looking forward to next year.
