Want to find a line for Stradics other than mono to provide better feel and less stretch. I have tried Seagaur InvizX and after 30 minutes develop line twist and can not get the casting distance as mono. I always close bail by hand and have tried spooling per Shimano instructions and spool flat on floor and flipping from side to side. I am thinking of a light braid with a floro leader. Thanks for any help. John |

John...I suggest the new Berkley Nanofil. I used it last fall on a spinning reel and had great results. No line twist, and it will outcast mono.

If you started out without line twist then developed it, it isn't the way you spooled or the line. Either you are fishing a lure that is causeing the twist, like a spoon or plastic worm, or you are cranking against the drag. If you have induced line twist, changing line will only be a temporary solution. I haven't used Nanofil yet but haven't heard any knocks. I have braid on my Stradic and no problems. If you do find yourself with line twist one way to eliminate it is to remove all terminal tackle from the line and let it out behind the boat while moving at a low speed. Reel it in without touching the line and you should be good. |

If I may suggest Power Pro Braid. I use it on several reels, 30lb test and it's very good. Zero stretch and the you can feel the slightest tap. It's a bit more expensive than other lines, but it's proven. |

I'm with Mo & Retired. If you haven't tried NanoFil, this is the perfect opportunity. It'll lengthen your casting distance, and I've not had any issues with twist. Plus, the sensitivity is great.
Depending on the size of your reel, you'll more than likely have to back it with mono as it's pretty thin-diameter, and the filler packs contain 150 yards.

I agree with Kurt with using nanofil it is great a little costly but the performance is really great and it does cast better on a spinning reel |

I use 50 lb Power Pro on an 8' Berkley Big Game rod and Berkley Fusion reel. I can throw that thing an unreal distance. It's very handy as I do a lot of catfishing from the bank and need the distance. I tie a big barrel swivel from a tore up bait cast net between the Power Pro and the 30 lb test mono I use for leader. I have had it hang so bad I broke the line off and it busted right past the barrel swivel, so I lost no Power Pro.
I did leave quite a bit of 30 lb test as backing on the arbor of the reel, as there was not enough line on the Power Pro spool to fill the reel. Of course I figured it wrong and the first cast sent out a big mess of spider web. I had over filled the reel. Lost about 25 feet of it that cast. After that it worked great.
Nice stuff.
