As a bass hunter I love the feeling I get when I hook that first big bass of the year. I recently got interested into a little lake near my home in Washington, north of seattle about 50 miles. I dont know what to expect but looking forword to this spring. I will let you know how it works out.

Welcome to the forum, Keemo! I'm also in W.Washington and I'm not sure what lake you're speaking of. I DID go fishing for smallmouth last year with fellow club member basbandit on Lake
Whatcom. He, being an experienced bass fisherman, was much more successful than I but I can say I caught my first smallie! Had a great time w/ him and his wife. You might try looking him up here. He and his wife usually fish the regional tourneys.

BTW, you can see my smallie and a picture of basbandit on my page under Colonel Fishin'. You might even be able to tell it was one of those typical Western Washington days!

jchoiniere I have lots of sucess in the area out in front of the Seahawk's training building and just north of it, along that shoreline with crankbaits. Another good area is in the cannels just south and east of the I-90 bridge. If the weather gets better they should start staging in the cannels to spawn. Just inside Lake Union out in front of the UW rowing club is also a great area for drop shotting. Hope this helps you somewhat.

keemo87 if your fishing a lake 50 N of Seattle then your fishing in my neck of the woods. What lake are you talking about I may have fished it. I ahve fished most of the lakes around here from Bellingham to Marysville. If I know the lake I may be able to help you out on what to use.
