Boy I don't know about you guys but here in the Saginaw area I never even got my shanty on the ice. I know a lot of the northern lakes only had marginal ice this winter. This is the first time ever I was fishing in my boat in febuary on the Saginaw river. We did real well on the eyes when the conditions were good. But when the current was ripping all we seemed to be able to reel in were catfish. My brother in law even reeled in a 30# monster. I never saw one that big out of our river. I can't wait till the walleye season reopens on the river because the hogs are there now. In the mean time we've been hammering the perch in the cuts on the east side of the Saginaw Bay.
