I took my wife, Denise and daughter, Michelle to a local river yesterday for a day of some good fly fishing. We slept in yesterday and got on the river late in the morning only to be met by quite a few fishermen.  Popular river, but that's fine, there's always room for three more, right? Michelle started stripping a size 10 black and green bugger on a 6wt with sinking line and immediately hooked into her PB rainbow. She fought it like a pro and I eagerly netted it for her.

Soon after, Denise was hooked up to a nice 'bow using her new Sage rod I bought for her.

This was her first fish with her rod and she was loving it! (I'm such a special husband).

There followed a couple of more good hook-ups for the ladies to the point I was actually standing by with my net in hand, only to have hooks tossed aside. I did manage to bring one to the net at the first hole.

The hole got a little cold, so we left for hotter waters elsewhere. Once we arrived, Michelle was again first with a fish on (she sure loves stripping buggers, I guess). This one was even larger than her first one, so another PB. Not bad. Funny how it was a little photo shy and gave Michelle that little slap to the face before being carefully released to fight another day.

Denise then hooked into a nice one with a size 24 midge, which seemed to be the hot ticket for her. She had lost a couple others on tiger and zebra midges which ended up breaking her tippets. It wasn't until we were back at the truck before I realized she was fighting these fish with 6X tippet. Umm, a little light, in my opinion, but she did well bringing those other two in.

Here's a close-up of a midge I tied that caught this one.  Unfortunately, she did lose this midge soon after this release.

And, here's a pic of a "hitchhiker" that I found in my boot back at the truck.  Hmm, now to try and tie that midge in about a size 20, and we'll be in there.

Yep, yesterday my ladies were hot and I was just along for the netting and pic taking, I guess.  Just the way I like it.
