Here's one I've had an eye on for a while now...finally found a price that was right. These old Rockets are fetching high prices, partly from collectors, but also from guys still fishing them. This one is a model 1355 and looks like it has never been fished. The smoothness and feel of the moving parts is impressive...even by todays standards!

I have one also. I have never used it though. Always thought it would make a good trolling reel.

I think the Rocket was originally billed as a trolling reel, but they are great casting reels for musky, pike, and catfish. In this neck of the woods, lots of guys still use these for cats.

Boy howdy...the more I sit and fiddle around with this reel...the more I am thinking of trying to find one to fish(like one a little rougher, not so shiny and pricy). The only drawback is weight. This old girl is kinda heavy, but that is probably why so many are still in service.
