    Hey there, I have been fishing in and around SE Minnesota and I'm not having much luck, just wondering what sort of flies are working around here?

    Any help will be very much appreciated

    90 percent of the time they feed subsurface so Nymphs streamers and emergers will be your best shots.

    some good nymph s are the pheasant tail nymph , the hairs ear nymph ,pink squirrel, copper john . wooly buggers

    This is a hatch chart for SW Wisconsin....SE Minn should be quite similar.

    Blue-winged Olive (Baetis spp.)
    Timber Coulee, Black Earth All season, heaviest in May and September

    Hendrickson (Ephemerella subvaria)
    Timber Coulee, Black Earth, West Fork Kickapoo April through May, when you can find them!

    Sulfer Dun (Ephemerella spp.)
    Timber Coulee, West Fork Kickapoo, Willow Creek, Big Green Mid May through July

    March Brown (Stenonema vicarium)
    West Fork Kickapoo Late May through June

    Hex, Giant Michigan (Hexagenia limbata)
