     An eastern spiny soft-shell  turtle. the only one ive ever seen
    fishing in eastern PA

    caught a few turtles over the years....most of the time it's either a mud er a painter turtle

    I caught an 18 pound soft shell while catfishing in Florida once.

    I've caught (and eaten) softshell turtles in Imperial County, CA. These were in canals and drains and probobly originated in the Colorado River.

    Soft shells are great eating turtles, every bit as good as snappers.
