I was wondering what I can do to improve my chances at catching trout?  I havent been fishing for a long time and am now just getting back in to fishing.  What are some of the best lures and crank baits to use when fishing for trout or which ones you would recommend.  I am fishing on Lake Sawyer and Lake Wilderness here in Washington State.  Currently I am using a bobber with a number 6 hook, for bait I am using a green and yellow power bait with shrimp,  I am also using a blue fox tail for trolling. Please help any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Also are there any websites to help me further?
    Thanks,
    Garrett

It would be nice if someone from your neck of the woods would answer this...locale is important with a question like this. Did you check out the TROUT and SALMON forum here? Lots of tips there...good luck!

It is really a shame that no-one from the club has ever taken the time to put up a "How to get the most from this site" post here. I think new members would find it particularly beneficial to learn how to use the various features of the site and some of the best ways to get a good answer to a question. This post would probably get better responses in "Trout" or the state section.

Match the hatch as best you can, that's always a good start. If you know the pond is stocked, find out what with and fish a lure similar to what's being stocked, that's what's gotten me success in my limited experience with trout.
