We do not need, any sever storms.  But, need some big rain.  The last time the TVA, updated their sight.  Was yesterday, evening.  Lake Barkley, was at 356.55 feet.  And falling.  We are forecast for .61 inch of rain.  Hope we get, at least, that amount.  The fishing, has been very good.  In spite, of the low water.  More water, will only make things better.  Bass, catfish, and red ear.  Are what, I have been catching.  Hoping to hear some rain on the roof, tomorrow.

I agree with ya 100% Sam. We sure need the lake to rise more. Bring on the rain.

Jim, I think I live about a mile, from where you live. If, I remember right, you are at Rockastle Shores. I have lived here, since March, of 1997. I planned, on fishing my life away.
However, I had a sever heart attack, the year after I moved here. Have had, 3 more attacks. And by-pass surgery. I mostly fish, with my Freinds, John & Tracy Dame. I just, got back on my feet. And now, my old pickup, has a rod knocking. John, lives in Evansville. And comes down here, every Friday. We do some jug fishing for catfish, during the summer. Then switch to
fishing below the dam. For striped bass, in the fall. We did some jug fishing Friday night. Only caught six cats. Two of them, were to small. The other four, were from 3, to 5 pounds.
Hope, to get my truck fixed, in the next couple of weeks. Then, I can do a little fishing, by myself.

Don't know, if we will get a lot oif rain. Even a quarter inch, would help some. A half inch, would be better. An inch, would be great!

Well, Sam, the rain all came to me on Friday morning. Only problem was that I wasn't here at home, I was at Laurel lake near London. My neighbor Kyle Prewitt ( who I think you know) said it barely got the ground wet here on Harper road. But they are saying Sat night and Friday, if we don't get some soon it looks like Barkley gonna go dry. I heard a terrible rumor couple weeks back when we were at Dover that they are thinking about dropping it 15 feet. If they do there won't be no lake for sometime. Hope you can get your truck fixed soon. I will be back to check on you guys Monday, going to Benton, Il to Rend lake this weekend

The storm that hit Tuesday dumped a ton of water on us. My back yard was covered by about 2 inches. For about 15 minutes my gutters couldn't keep up with it.

Shaylako, They are going to start on my truck, on Monday. It should be done, in a couple of weeks. Still have not had enough rain, to raise the lake. They gain an inch, and lose two.
I do most of my fishing, below the dam. So, it will not affect my fishing. While the lake is low. The river, is on the rise. If my son. Can get the trailer wires, on his truck fixed. We, will
    fish down there, this Saturday.

Sam, if you need a four prong plug and can catch me home I have a few of them. Jim, yeah it was Barkley they were talking about, but remember IT'S ONLY A RUMOR. I cannot validate or repudiate the statement. Just something I heard some guys talking about at the tournament in Dover. We had a pretty nice little rain, tho didn't we. Hope you guys both doing good, we had a good turnout at Rend lake this weekend, and they actually caught them pretty good too. Weather was great for a tournament, a bit cloudy and not too hot or cold, and NO rain until I started back to Ky. See you later

Shaylako, Thanks for the offer. My son, had his wires working. We were going to fish, below the dam. Due, to the TVA, turning the generators, on, and off. We decided, to stay home. And, work, on the yard. They got some rain, to our south. It will take a couple of days. To know, if it helps. Once they have enough water, to generate steady power. We, will fish, at the dam.
Until then. We will wait, and see.

How did you do, at the tournament? Wish I could do that. But, my heart, will not allow it. After, ten minutes of casting. My arms, hurt so bad, I have to stop. My family, gets upset. That, I fish, at all. My son, understands. That, I would rather die fishing. Than, setting in a rocking chair. I hope, that when the end does come. I, am on the water, alone. I, can't think of a better way, to cross over. Just God, Me, and nature. Until, that time. I will fish, whenever I can. And, hope that, those who are left behind, Can understand.

I love to fish too, but as far as the tournaments go I don't fish them I am a BFL staffer. So the tournaments are my job. I fished some for a while, but its way too expensive for me. I have a really good time working with the fishermen in different areas and being on the different waterways tho. And I do understand how you feel, my neighbor on the hill is coming on 89 year old and he goes almost everyday for at least half the day.

That sounds, like it could be fun. I find, most anything, to do with fishing is. Sometimes, I just go to the dam. And hang out. I, have met fishermen there, from all over the country.
I like to listen, to other fishermen. Have learned, a lot of new things, that way.

Got my truck back yesterday. I'm glad, that I had the engine rebult. Unstead of buying a new truck. It cost $3,587.59. To get a rebuilt engine, and tranny. It runs like a new truck. I have to catch up, on a few choirs. Then, I will be back to fishing. It has been, a long couple of years. Now, I will be back, to eating fresh cought fish. That's, going to be fun.

We still, could use some rain though.
