The title says it all. Which do YOU prefer when fishing streams and/or rivers? (When NOT using a Fly Rod)
    I don't go fishing, I go catching.

It should not matter how One fishes . But a lot is going to depend on the water fished . How fast is the current, how deep is the water , what is the bottom content made up of ,
IN other words how safe is it to wade . I do them both and my preference depends on my safety. I usually use a combination shore fishing is less dangerous as you can see what your getting into before you get into it .
Take a kid fishing , If the fish aint biting entertain them. Photobucket

i like to wade in. i usually step into a hole that makes me loose my footing. never fails i do it everytime from being focused on where i am casting or looking for my next spot. usually when this happens i swim ashore pull the waders off and shore fish. so i like to do both.

I prefer wading, definitely. Obviously only when it's safe, and I like wading in ponds. Just gives you more of a sense that you're fighting in the fish's territory. Not to mention I've had several scrappy largemouths swim right towards me and around my legs before giving up and getting released, that's always exciting.
