My husband has been an avid flat head fisherman for a long time and I, myself have always been a walleye kind of girl.  I had never been flat head fishing before.  I grew up on a river so I was used to channel cats and blues.  So, yesterday my husband asked me to tag along to go fishing for these big flat heads that I have heard so much about.  I honestly didn't know if I would like it or not. We went and caught our bait because as everyone knows..flat head love live bait! We set up our gear down at the river, threw our poles in and waited.  Half way through the night, my pole went nuts and I reeled in a 48 lb flat head!  It took me about 20 minutes just to get the monster in!  It was the most amazing experience. It was like no other from any fishing experience I had ever had.  I am definitely hooked and ready to catch another!

    Congrats!
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

Wow! thats awsome on two fronts! First that you caught such a nice fish and second that your husband got you hooked! Sure helps when the wife enjoys some of the same hobbies as her husband. Makes life easier when they both understand the attraction!
