I am a new member to this club, enjoy the magazine and like reading the forums have some great folks on here. I have seen many post with complaints most not in this section. Which is where I believe is they should be. My only problem so far is I don't like receiving something that I didn't ask for, to preview then buy or send back. Wouldn't it be better to put the offer in the magazine or online then only those who want it can ask for it. My life and house are a bit chaotic and when I get stuff like the book to look at free for 30 days, if I don't send it back the same day it will be lost or misplaced then I get to buy something I didn't want. Oh yes then another will come and it starts over. So please don't send me anything to preview that I don't ask for. Just thought this might help your relationship with me and surely some other members. I know please don't call me Shirley!

Call member services or e-mail member services...They DO NOT read anything regarding issues with the club that's posted in the forums.

I could never understand why the books and DVDs that the club sends out unsolicited are not available for purchase "al la Carte" at the members store.Wouldn't it make sense to send something to a member who has asked to purchase it? I won't buy any of the books for the simple reason you need to subscribe to the series in ordeer to get one or two books you might be interested in owning.

I ended up looking on e-bay for the books I wanted without having to deal with the return of ones I didn't want. Got a package deal there for 6 books for $20. A couple were duplicates of ones I already had, which became gifts for friends, the rest filled my wants. I had already cancelled being sent unsolicited items. N.A.F.C. could have made those sales had they seen fit to offer the books/DVDs on a member store, but lost out on those revenues. And whose fault was that?

NAFC counts on people not returning the books(and everything else) and then paying for them. They're here to make a profit. Even though a lot of people aren't going to pay the premium price plus shipping, plenty of people do. They're the ones that put the books on eBay. NAFC doesn't mind us buying them off eBay. They've already made their money on them.

We have become a society of convenience and businesses use that. Record clubs operate the same way as NAFC. They count on enough people not going through the trouble of returning the product and just buying it. Retail stores love gift cards. They get the money up front knowing a large percentage will never use them. Fitness clubs do it. Charge a membership fee up front knowing most people will quit showing up by mid-February. Redbox thrives on $1.00 rentals because they know most of us will keep forgetting to return the disc, making that $1 rental an $8 rental.

NAFC does it the way they do it because it works.
You should see the new rod and reel I got for my wife. I feel like it was a pretty good trade.
