Can I fish for pike from shore? I don't have a boat but I love to fish for pike. I was wondering what methods and lures work best for them. what time of day and month is good for fishing them.

I catch pike from shore quite frequently. I have never really found a pattern other than they really don't care for warm water. I have caught them on a variety of baits ranging from small, soft prerigged swimbaits to fairly large floating hardbaits to spoons to live bait. The one constant seems to be good cover, preferably weeds, but heavy timber is good too. Oddly, most of the pike I have caught have come when fishing for something else!

Are you fishing lakes or rivers or both?

It would also help if you were willing to say what state you are in...as weather makes a difference.

when going for pike the water temp is very important , they like to stay in the cooler temps. i go on rivers in the summer and try and find a place with good cover. also look for drop offs from shallow to deep water, they will sit on the drop off and wait for bait fish in the shallow waters to venture out...good luck, pike are a blast to catch but as long as i catch something im satisfied, dont get discouraged.
