big pike guesstimate for its weight

    a buddy of mine fished w a guide in mn and caught a forty nine inch pike.  can anyone estimate what it weighed?

    I weigh alot of my fish and I have found that pike and musky vary a great deal. Some are long and thin, than others are thick and heavy. Last weekend I caught a 28" pike it should have weighed a little over 4lbs, yet it was closer to 7lbs. Regardless a 49" is huge, congrats

    Wellsley makes a good point, depending on time of year and food source a Pike's weight can vary a lot.
