I have mainly used the improved clinch knot all the time. however the other day, after getting several hits on a strike king bitsy bug football jig i lost it because the knot came undone!!! so for this reason i would like to learn some better knots. Your respone would be greatly appreciated. thanks and as always -God Bless |

I almost use the palomar knot on everything that i tie on my rods, I have never had a fish come off my line do the line breaking at my knot ( unless it did not tie it right ) It is the best knot out there I.M.H.O. Bass pro shops has a little book you can get for around $ 5.00 .......It is called the little red fishing knot book....It has about 50 of the best knots ....I hope this helps you ,good luck JOHN |

My favorite knot is the uni knot. Its very simple to tie and its one of those knots that wont come loose, it will only get tighter. Its a great knot for tying just about everything. Forget the 5 bucks, unless you want something as a reference to keep handy while your fishing, just watch a few youtube videos. Theres a video on how to tie just about every knot known to man..Just remember, what ever knot you use, always check it after you catch a fish or get hung up on something. Good luck.. |

How to videos are available,of all places, right here on the home page under Knot Wars. The knots are also rated for performance with braid, mono and fluoro. A little checking will show that some knots are substantially better with a particular line type. The Palomar is one of the few knots that is not only easy to tie, but relatively uniform in performance with the various types of line. |

I have simplified my life by just using the good old uni-knot for everything...and it works. |

I switched several years ago from the improved clinch to the palomar. I use it for all of my knots except line to line.

I'm another Palomar user. Just about 97% of the time I fish I use it. Exceptions are with mono and I rarely use mono to fish. |
