I'd have to say my fave would either be the chartreuse bluegill popper I have or a Berkley Flicker Shad. Caught some serious pig crappie on that little minnow.

I like to tip a small jig with a spike or wax worm. Sometimes just a small ice jig and other days a regular jig with a southern pro 1 inch tube bait. The black/lime green color is my go to color around here.

I'd like to catch them on some flies, but the last time we got into them (last fall) we were scoring on them near the bottom about 20' down in a CA reservoir on red worms. There were quite a few fatties, so it was worth going deep. Tried jigging but the red worms was the ticket. I agree with MORGWRAITH that there are some ideas posted here that I'm willing to try.
