Hi, I learned a long time ago about using sugar cubes as fishing weights for flies or any other light bait to float in the water especially if you are on the bank. The line is cast out far but the cube disolves and allows the bait to float freely...Anyone remember how to do this without immediately disolving the cube prior to casting???  or is there another method...i.e. using soft candies, etc....

    Thanks,

Have you tried sugar filled water soluble capsules? http://www.torpac.com/
You should see the new rod and reel I got for my wife. I feel like it was a pretty good trade.

maybe you can glue the line to the cube. I haven't tried that but had a friend tell me that you can lodge a 1/4 in nut to a line with a baby asprin, which will melt in the water. The plain, not the coated ones might melt faster and are much cheaper.
