    It's legit pot-belly.

It is the new and improved field test this or that. NAFC has done away with the field test program, and replaced it with snuff/snuff.

When I became a life member I was suppose to get items to test..That Was a Big Joke.
And now I get an Email for this BS site that I have to jump through hoops and kiss major A$$ to test mostly Junk.
Now I'm wondering why I wasted my money to become a life member.

I admit I have not quit figured the site out, it does seem to be as much (or more) a sales site as anything else.

I got on and signed up a few weeks ago. They are ways to earn points and then you use the points to pick out items that YOU want to test ( instead of bug repellent). I put in for a knife sharpener. Waiting to hear back.

With ALL due respect...you folks NEED to remember that there are OVER 400,000 club members.

WHAT are the odds of YOU getting something to test??? Do you REALLY think that the manufacturer's can accomodate even 5,000? MOST of them have pro's etc...on their staff to do that already.

    Be REALISTIC folks

IF the ONLY reason you joined was to get FREE stuff...keep on

I became a Life Member because I enjoyed the discussions / topics etc... on the Forums here  AND I got tired of sending in dues EVERY year.

Unfortunately...it seems like most folks on here have become "read only" on topics

And at the SAME time...WHY are so MANY of you WHINING about "free stuff" to test?

Life Membership is a good thing...I have NO regrets.

What YOU expect it to be is on you...and your azzumptions

Atta boy Dave, my sediments exactly!! My Dad taught me, that if you didn't earn it, with hard work and sweat, then it isn't worth haveing!! I expect nothing for free!
I have been a life member since '93, and  yes I have recieved a few gifts, and a item or two for testing, But I assure, I didn't join with the expectation of recieveing anything.

We signed up and if we get a new lure to try once a year wed be more than happy. Been a life menber for going on ten years and it's not about the free stuff. It's making friends, learning, and sharing fishing tips and stories. There's no price on that!

Looks like stuffstuff had a little burp in their system today. They sent me an email telling me I'd been selected to test the light strips. Then an hour later they sent another email basically saying "oops. no you didn't get selected." Methinks somebody hit the wrong button

No biggie. I've tested two other items already since stuffstuff started.
You should see the new rod and reel I got for my wife. I feel like it was a pretty good trade.

I signed up in August and am still waiting to get selected to test something. I picked out a few more items last week, maybe that will increase my chances.

I signed up for it as soon as it came on line...age keeps me from remembering when that was exactly...haven't gotten anything either. I understand that this is noit the reason most of us signed up for this thing...but if they are going to advertise the the fishing club and use this as their main tool to do the advertising for them...WELL. I know that there are 400.000 members...and that is a lot...my question is WHY ARE THERE REPEAT WINNERS WHEN OTHERS NEVER HEAR A WORD? I want to know what is fair about that.

Members asked Stuffstuff on FB how they could increase their chance of getting selected, here's their reply:

Apply for products in all levels, you can choose up to 10 products !

Reason:" For some products we get thousands of units and others tens or hundreds. Usually, the higher valued products have fewer units and the lower valued products higher units. So if you have been applying for only the higher valued products, you have more competition than if you would be applying for the lower ticket items. If you are at a higher level, you have earned your right to test the higher valued products so you don't have to apply for lower ticket items, but do know there will be a much longer wait line for the most popular products so we encourage for applying to test products at all levels."

    Hello Taxidermy1;

I would bet dollars to doughnuts that of the 400,000 members NAFC says it has, less than 1000 are active. Just like on the forums, it is the same handful of members who post there. Same with chat, and I would imagine most every other aspect of this club.

There is mostly no leadership involved with this forum, and unless you are on facebook or twitter, customer service is just about zero. Stevo is gone, the TV program is no longer broadcast, I got the latest issue of the magazine and it was online instead of paperback, the chat room has gone to hell in a hand basket, as has much of this forum.

Their free test products have always been beads and trinkets, at least the ones I tested. Not worth the postage to send them. I have heard of some getting big ticket items, but the biggest item I ever tested was bobber lights or something like it. I started to sign up for snuff-snuff, but when they wanted to know more about me than I thought they needed to know, I just deleted the app.

I would really like to see numbers on the members who are still active both here on the forum and at snuff-snuff. As I said earlier, I would imagine that the actual active membership is closer to nil than 400,000.

Just my take on things here at this club.

I asked to be taken off there e mail list heres what they said...There is no email list to remove you from as the only communications are with your account registration or account activity. I can certainly remove your account, however that means that you won't be able to re-register. I wold recommend that you just become inactive and no action would be required on your part.

    SOUNDS LIKE BS TO ME...

Having been a LIFER since Feb. of 1991 I've seen a lot of changes some good and some not.

The good - the magazine , the fellow members, occasional field test
I don't remember after 20+yrs. exactly why I became a lifer nor do I care. I've enjoyed it

The bad- unsolicitated books, offers and emails
The stuff they send me(books) I send it right back " return to sender " Emails I delete. Offers and letters get filed after I open them. Lifes to short to sweat the small stuff

    The good/bad - this website
I don't log on or visit the site everyday like I do others because it is a pain in the ash to navigate and just when I get it figured out they try to improve it and change it again but at least they are trying.
