I currently own: Reels: a Pflueger Criterion Baitcaster, a Shiman IX 2000R spinning reel, and two Shimano Sienna Spinning reels. Rods: Abu Garcia Pro Power Graphite 6' Medium action, a Shimano FXS 66mb2 6'6" medium fast, a Shimano Sojourn SJS-66M2 Graphite 6'6" medium fast, a Shimano Spinning FX-2652 6'6" Line: Viscous Flourocarbon 6lb & 12lbs, Spider Wire EZ Braid 10lb, Fireline Fused original superline 20lb, Stren Mono 17lb, Trilene XL smooth casting mono 6lb & 12lb, Trilene sensation 8lb, Suffix Elite clear, Hi/Lo vis mono 20lb.
I'm looking for what might be the best set up with this...I've heard use superline on spinning reel with mono or flouro leader (if any), and braid on the baitcasting reel with mono or flouro leader (if any). I live in Michigan and am trying to get set up with a couple various rigs so I can switch speeds "on the fly". I've heard use mono for top water, flouro for sub surface. It almost sounds like it is a personal preference as to what to use, when, where, and how.
Can anyone straigten out this backlash?!?! |
