today i was at a local lake working a 2inch tube on my trout rod trying for some panfish, when just before dark i hooked into what i guesstimate to be like a 6lb carp. after at least 10 minutes of fighting, it was at the net but i couldn't get it in and it broke off. |

Sounds like it must have been a good fight, and maybe, if it happens again you will get it in and have a picture for us. My only strike from a carp on a lure was with a fly rod popper and I missed it. I knew a guy in Brawley, CA who caught some on Mepps Spinners, the ones with squirrel tail. |

i have no idea how i hooked it and it was a really great fight i just couldn't land it because it was to dark and we were trying to land it on a ledge that wasn't level with the water. i got him real close to the net i couple of times but i couldn't get him in because i couldn't pull that much on him.
