My boat has been stored in my garage  for many years, just recently I moved and  I have to keep my boat outside. I purchased a new boat cover, suction cup tie downs, slats, and slat brackets. Everything works great untill we get some rain. The whole system collapses and the slats get all twisted and bent out of shape. Is there any good system out there that works and is reasonably priced.    Thank You, Don

I made up a framework of my own design using PVC tubing, 90 degree elbows,  45 degree elbows, "T's", etc. to support my cover and it is sturdy and sheds rain quite well. My framework is made  in 3 sections that are not glued together so it is managable to remove and replace in the boat. The joints of the 3 sections are glued together so the whole thing doesn't come apart. The 3 sections simply press fit together.

I made a U shaped frame out of conduit. Then I run rope from the bends and to each corner of my boat and keep them very tight. This works well as long as you go out every so often and push the snow off. I've had as much as 2 feet of snow piled on it and it never collapsed. Oh yeah I made a base for the conduit out of 2x4's and got a couple of the screw in pipe ends you use for railing. put a short section of pipe in to slide the conduit so it will stand straight. A lot of guys up here in Mi. by me use this system the slats just don't hold up well in the snow as does the pvc tubing.
