I haven't been out myself because of health issues but thought I'd pass this on to you guys My friends have been slamming the perch oin Saginaw bay the last few weeks. They have been fishing in about 16-18 feet of water. A few have gone to the spark plug and some the black hole. they have been getting jumbos from 10-14". Most have been limiting out in a couple hours. Using shiners and drop rigs.

seems like shiners have always been the got-to bait on Saginaw Bay. my Dad always fished with crappie rigs and whichever minnows were available and usually got his best results with shiners

A couple years ago we were out by palmer rd. and couldn't buy a fish on shiners. Out of desperation we started cleaning out the tackle boxes and tried some different stuff went to a small green jighead and tiny tube baits and hammered some jumbos been out there a few times and they still work good. For some reason we still got to get shiners though just doesn't seem right to fish for perch without some meat lol
