I took my wife and daughter salmon fishing for the first time on the Sacramento River here in CA.  I talked to folks on the right technique, locations, tips, etc. in hopes of putting us into some salmon during this fall's run.  Well, after a 4 hour drive and a mostly restless night in the hotel, we launched my boat only for my daughter to reel in this nice chrome chinook salmon.  We were trolling both Kwikfish and Flatfish, seeing as how I couldn't decide which ones to use.  She was sitting at the back of the boat while I drove and as soon as the rod went off, she was on it.  My wife had the job of reeling in the other rod and handling the net.  Not a monster fish, but it certainly made her day.

Outstanding!! Not only did you get to "Take a youngster fishing", but you got to have a good day on the water with the family. That's great looking fish too.
Where in CA do you call home?

Thanks.  We live in Lemoore, just south of Fresno.  Unfortunately, we now have to patiently wait until next fall's salmon run to chase those fish.
