Well, I decided to try to put some velcro on the base of the foot control of my trolling motor.  Went to all of the trouble of putting a plate on the bottom of the motor before I checked to see if the velcro would work---It didn't so now it is back to the drawing board.  Maybe I will look up a Riv-nut tool.

No, actually I haven't done anything yet, I still like my idea of using a riv-nut tool and putting some captive nuts into the deck, I just have not procured a tool. I know that JC Whitnfey has them but I did wnat to check locally first. And there are some other things ahead of it on my priority list.

    Thanbks for asking.

Allen. Harbor Fright has a rivet nut tool pretty cheap. I have one and its fair. Not a commercial production tool by any means, but it works. Not sure where in Az you are, but I know Phx and Yuma have Harbor Fright stores.

    Not a typo ...

Thanks Bob, I hadn't thought of them. I have been in one of their stores near the juncture of I-10 and I-15 near LA (a favorite shopping place of my fathers), and I do know that the stores have tons of stuff you don't need and want just 'cause it is there.

What I need to do is look at their on line catalogue as they have some other things I can use.

I dont know if it was the regular type of velcro with the fuzzy side and then the grip side but if it was, there is a much better version that might work for you. We (Truck mechanics) use it a lot for fastening things to interior walls of trucks. It is made by 3M. here is a link to it incase you want to check it out. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/...5642&rt=c3
