Hmm, posting about how nothing's going on--- before going on to another site. Seems like a self propagating prophesy to me. Kind of like, taking the last bass from the pond, then wondering why there aren't any more. |

Well basser, why not come up with a topic of your own for here? I do know that in the misciianeous "grouping" it is mostly poly-ticks (mispelling intentional) and some of it is pretty heated. Outside of that, it isn't so different. I have seen the same name as the last one in a thread for long periods in both NAFC & NAHC and times when nothing changes on many of the threads. ' Not much bass fishing in NAHC either. |

Whoever Shawn and Lloyd are they need to keep wrenchin'...'cause I still can't access anyone's photo albums. Still can't send PM's either...but I agree with the boys...I'm hyjackin' this here thread...lets talk fishin'! I went out for a few hours today...more or less just to test this new lure I bought. Its a smaller version of an umbrella rig...or as they say..."Alabama" rig. This little dude is too cool... ...it is only a three hook A-rig...so its legal to fish here in the Buckeye state. Its called the Yumbrella Ultralight Tripod. Its small and light enough...you could cast it on a M or MH spinning rod. It looks killer coming through the water too. I bought it with bass in mind...but after getting it...I'm thinking crappie in the spring. I included a photo of it in my hand so you can get a handle on the size. |

That's kinda cool there Mo. Let us know how you do with it. Here in Arizona, you can only have hooks on two lures, any more than that have to be just hookless teasers.

Looks good to me also, for us here in AZ, we could put a spinner blade of some sort on the center one or get an Alabama tyoe and put several tiny spinner blades on it. |

10-4 on adding the teasers guys...you can see the snaps in the pics...a "dummy" jig or spinning blade would be a snap to add. Also I didn't mention earlier that the wires are heat treated stainlees steel...looks just like the wire Pradco puts on those high dollar Jimmy Houston spinnerbaits. It feels very tough...I expect this bait will hold up nicely.

I don't feel like I have much to offer on the forums since I don't have much experience like most of you who I've come to depend on for information. Mo, P'sG, B or B, Tosser, AZ, etc. I still like to peruse the columns though, picking up tid-bits here and there where I can. Occasionally I try to add what I can, though not as often as I might. I guess my point is, while I might not be postin,' I'm still readin', and appreciate what you more knowledgeable/experienced guys/gals put up. Please keep it going- at least until us that are trying to learn can contribute too. As for the current post- the 'A'-rigs and such, I have mixed feelings to tell the truth. While I think they're probably pretty productive, I kind of feel like they're an 'unfair advantage' over the fish. I mean, we as humans consider ourselves the dominant species- smarter than those other 'dumb' animals, so where does it end? At what point do we say we need to keep the playing field level? I think most, if not all, of us agree that while dynamite is effective and productive, it's not exactly a humane and 'fair' method of fishing. Perhaps 'sporting' would be a better word than 'fair'. I'm not saying that this 'new' rig shouldn't be allowed, just that I'm personally still on the fence about using it. Maybe if I knew how to use all the rest of the gear out there I might feel different. Perhaps once I can catch a fish on at least two of three trips I'll feel like expanding my repertoire to include some of the more recent and newfangled stuff. Hope I don't step on any toes with this.... |

No worries prober...you're entitled to your opinion. But I'll tell you something...A-rigs are not magic...I see posts all over the net by disappointed guys who thought they were. What they are, is just another lure, but one designed to mimic a school of baitfish, rather than a single baitfish. When baitfish are schooling, it is an effective tool, but put aside those thoughts of catching every fish in the lake in 15 minutes! |

I agree mo65 every new bait that comes along doesn't always work. looking at the picture the way it's rig IMHO it would be a good bait rig for catching bait. seeing how you can change lure on it I would put a crankbait / or bigger swim bait on the center wire. If I was a fish and was feeding I'd go for a bigger meal LOL |

Hey FFFisch...they aren't hard to find. Tackle Warehouse has a bunch of brands...including the Yumbrella models. They range in size from ones as big as a saltwater umbrella rig right down to that tiny ultralight I posted.

Hijacking this thread was a good idea mo, just like the crappie rig. It is nice to have an informative post in the top five, it sure beats all the "Good morning" space takers! |
