Am looking for a guide that show's the depth of dipsey by line size.  IE  braid, mono, copper and so forth.  I was told there was one out year's ago but was discontinued.  The dipsey package shows 20 pound mono but I use 30 pound super pro braid and would like to know how deep I'm running per feet out??  Any Body??

I am not aware of any chart available that has that information. Even the Big Water edition of the troller's guide only has charts for the 10/4 Fireline and 20# mono, at least the edition I own. I would guess that 30 lb braid would fall somewhere near the middle of those two.on top of that, with the new sinking braids, we now have an additional factor to work with!

It depends on how much line you let out and what size dipsy your using. Hook a deptherm to the dipsy and try it at differant lengths.

Jerry, that Big Water edition of the troller's guide is a great reference, but it is limited in that charts are available for 20# mono and 10/4 Fireline only, and not even the Fireline for all applications.

There's a new addtion out big water 2 covers more lines :

"Dive charts are also provided for 18, 27 and 36 pound test lead core lines fished at all common lead lengths and two popular trolling speeds.

Each trolling device was tested using several line types and diameters to provide anglers with the most comprehensive information possible. Testing on various line sizes took more time, but it also eliminates the need for confusing line conversion charts. Big divers like the Dipsy were tested with 30# test monofilament, 30# Power Pro and 30# wire line. Smaller divers like the Big Jon Mini Disks were tested with smaller/more appropriate sizes of monofilament and Fireline."
