Wow nice job Barresi
Are you going to use it for fishing or just display?

Thanks to everyone for the compliments..I honestly don't know..lol I am a saltwater guy...and being that the rotor cup and side plate are just polished aluminum, I don't think I will fish it in the salt. I might take it up to the lake..Sport it around there...lol who knows?...This was my first venture into pimping out a reel...It was fun, a little frustrating...but satisfying. Thanks again everyone...

Thanks for the information Mo, I had heard of going baile less many years ago but then they just took the springs out and cut the bail off at the end of the cone and smothed it off. Have to admit that the PUM looks nicer.

Give it a break Dave, your rants are getting a bit long in the tooth. Besides, I didn't see any links (dead or live)

Wow, beauty of a job Barresi, that thing looks like a million bucks. Do you drill holes in all your spools or only on ones you give the full treatment to? That looks like a very cool mod.

Thanks skewl! I basically copied off the surf reels Van Staal and Zee baas. This mod is more about taking an old work horse and modifying it to use in the surf. The idea behind the holes is so when the reel gets dunked, it will flush out all the sand and salt. This mod has been going on for awhile in the forum "stripersonline". Alot of guys "pimp" them out to the point where there too pretty to fish in the surf. LOL  This is my first reel that I have drilled holes in and my first vintage reel. My modern reels I would not drill out...just no need for it.  Thanks again for your comment and interest!

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for keeping me from taking a drill press to my new Pflueger Trion, much appreciated! Keep up the good work!
