It rained this morning, but it was supposed to warm up and dry out a little. I skipped church and took a couple of rods, just to see if I could hit my January goal of 2 fish/month. I am happy to report, I have 5 fish for the month of January and the tie will soon be moving onto Prober. BTW self pics while holding the fish & the camera and getting yourself in the frame are harder than I thought. You'll see in a moment. The third shot. The first shot. the 4th fish. I gave up on self shots. All fish were caught on the two crankbaits in the picture, except one is hidden in the fish's mouth. March, November and December are still open. Step on up.

My two reactions to not telling anyone about the fish if I skip church:
1. moderation in everything, even church. If my fishing days equal my church days when I die.. well, I got some more fishing days to catch up before then, anyway.
2. Idk, if I'll go to hell for skipping church and fishing, but it may be worth it.

Hee hee...yes...it is a challenge. Good fishing...and nice job of tying the tie.

I just hope the Mojo doesn't get lost in the mail! I'm looking forward to going out with Dr James and taking BOTH our pictures with our catches. I wonder if anyone would notice if I put a different jig in HIS fishes mouth for MY picture..... ;-)

The tie arrived unscathed yesterday- unfortunately the lip on the Rapala was broken. I'm going to try gluing it but I think I'll get a new one and try it since it was recommended by an expert.
Thanks, Rodrigo! I'll be out this weekend- hopefully targeting steelies but whatever I might get to bite. Gotta take advantage of 'da mojo' while I can! I'll be sure to post pics as I can...

Ohhhh, bummer. Those two lures are good for trolling. I've done it with a small downrigger. In case you're looking for that Rapala it's a CD-1. If the lip broke off, then it's busted, but if it slid out, then I think you can glue it.

Thanks, wellsley. I'm waiting to hear back from Dr James on the steelhead plan. The season on the northern rivers ended January 31st so we may be travelling to the southern waters but I haven't seen many positive reports from them thar parts so... We'll just have to see what the weather brings. I may be going out in the rusty, err, TRUSTY ol' 'glass bottom boat on a local lake. No matter- I'll get on some water some how, some where as long as I've got the tie to boost my luck. Reports to follow....

I see no one has signed up for March.  If Prober wants to come south with it, I'd fish with it for a month.  Might just find that elusive Steelhead he's looking for.  Found two yesterday.
