So I got some coneheads yesterday at another fantastic Fly Fishing Show (my 3rd year now) and when I went home to put them on a size 6 streamer hook it couldn't make the bend to get onto the shank. Is the hook too big or the conehead too small or vice versa or what? Is there anything I can do to use these heads? The package says they're 1/4''.

    BEAD TO HOOK SIZE:
    1/16= Size 20,
    5/64= Size 18,
    3/32= Size 16,
    7/64= Size 14,
    1/8= Size 12,
    5/32= Size 10 & 8,
    7/32= Size 6 & 4,
    1/4=#2.

You could try drilling out the hole bigger that might  allow the bead to make the bend of the hook   if it works just add a few more raps on the hook by the eyelet before sliding the bead forward to tighten it back up.

Yeah I bent the shank to try and get the cone around and when I had finished tying the Woolly Bugger I was doing I noticed that the cone was far too big for the hook. Guess maybe I'll tie some saltwater patterns with those coneheads and see if I can get em sold on ebay or donated. Thanks!

I've tied with coneheads a few times, both freshwater for bass and for saltwater. Not sure of the sizes as I usually end up matching the hooks with the cones.
