My Wife loves her old Zebco 33 and really does not like any of the other reals that I have. We plan on going out together this year and fish for larger fish. is there a step up from the Zebco 33 that had more strength and possible line capacity.

I know what I am going to hear from some of you, but believe me, she has no patience to learn any of my other reels. I have tried.

Abu Garcia makes a really nice spincasting setup if you're lookin for the top of the line, but another Zebco would probably do the trick just fine. I believe Bass Pro has a couple store brand spincasting combos as well worth checking out.

I know where you're coming from!! LOL
I have no experience with this reel, but since she likes her 33 and you need something bigger, this might make sense:

I have an 808 I use for catfish...it will handle anything she throws at it. I've caught a bunch of channels and a few flats on mine...fish up to 20lbs...its a great reel for the money.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

Some might say if you got a reel for your wife- you got a good trade! ;-)
