Any Airbrushing Advice

Feb 14

I recently got two airbrushes as a gift. Im wondering what ypes of paints i should use for wooden and plastic lures. Also is there a way to hook up airbrushes to a craftsman compressor? Or do I need to buy an actual airbrushing compressor? Any advice on technique would be greatly appreciated also.

As for paint, I would go with enamels, and I am pretty sure you should have a regulator, in between your compressor and spray gun, to much presure could be bad.

I would recommend you contact CS Coatings for all your lure painting needs. Here's the link:

I spray from my Craftsman shop compressor. You will definitely want to install a good moisture trap in the line between the tank and the airbrush. I've found it very helpful to install two regulators in series and try to keep your lines as short as possible!

If you have Badger airbrushes you may be able to buy the adapter fittings from Badger directly. If not, a good Industrial supply house such as Graingers should be able to help you out.

Good luck with your painting!
