This is by far one of the greatest boat shows you could attended! I have been working this show for the last 5 years and people come from all over the world, either as a vendor or a consumer. I'll be here till Friday working for Avid Sportswear—they’re a sportswear company geared towards the Florida lifestyle.
What I love about this sportswear line is how simple everything is. I've always agreed that you can do so much more with something simple and they have done just that! Check them out, if you're in the market for some simple performance gear that shows your passion about fishing.
While I'm here, of course, I’ll be hanging out with my friends at Hobie. If you aren 't familiar with Hobie Kayaks, let me know and we'll have a chat! These are top-of-the-line kayaks for fresh- and saltwater fishing, or recreational uses. I have an Outback of my own and do more on that kayak than most people could even fathom. They have an exceptional booth at this show and don't spare any expense with having the best staff on board to assist.
At the Hobie booth they'll have every boat they make along with all their accessories and the famous Mirage Drive. What's the Mirage Drive you ask? It is the actually foot peddle contraption that makes for hands free fishing. Only the greatest tool ever invented for kayaking!
As a fisherman, I wasn’t too interested in this rig until I gave it a trial run. The thought of my hands not being free to cast scared me—this system makes it a piece of cake.
If you're in the area now, or plan on taking a trip to South Florida this time of year—I suggest you attend this show. You don't need to be in the market for a boat to enjoy it. There are artist, seminars, tackle, apparel, jewelry, women's specific apparel, and of course if you're like me you can drool over all the boats.
This show also has 4 different sites—IT’S THAT BIG! There are sport fish rigs and yachts in the water at different marinas; whether you’re in the market or not who doesn't love being outside in South Florida walking the docks with a cocktail appreciating these beautiful boats?
I'll be at the Bassmaster Classic next week so stay turned for my adventure there with MHX.
Now Get Out and Fish!
