I've used this tool for the last 2 years and find it very worthwhile. My only issue was the ends of the lip had a ridge of material I had to file off as it was cutting into the fish. I think it was a result of the molding process to make the tool jaws.

I bought this gripper and I like it for those really fish that has film on them for protection, like Trout, pickerel, bass. Then it is also good for those cats. I even used it one time for holding my rod, that I was trolling with the holder broke off and figured it would work. I give it a 10 and the price not to bad. The only thing I would say about the gripping power, just enough grip to hold the fish.
