I fish for big trout and think i will buy this

This sound like a great reel I have a mitchell and would like to try this so maybe I will up grade........

I have this reel its great use it for river fishing here in PA .

I have used this very reel for about 2 and a half years now.This is by far my favorite reel,trouble free and smooth a real pleasure to own.

With the Mitchell 300 name i would buy this. I am still using the real Mitchell 300 from around 1968

A friend of mine bought this reel. For about the first month this reel performed seemlessly...day in and day out. Let me tell we thought this reel was really something - I even liked it better than its antique counterpart to some degree. I have always said Newer isnt always abetter. And this is one of those cases. Now granted the vintage one snapped right above the reel seat but it took how many years? Atleast 40 years. It was handed down by my late great grandfather an that snapped with a huge 30-35 pound muskey on.
Fast foreward t0 2012 june to be exact. we were out fishing and were hitting catfish. Fairly small cats sent this reel in to the same watery grave that has claimed many of my older reels. What a fitting place for dead reels. Dont you agree? Personally I wont but another Mitchell but then again thats me.
