The reel does everything it is said to do but, The chrome has almost completely flaked off of the thing after just three fishing trips. So it is not a thing of beauty but, it is still standing up to the test. So if you want a reel that is built with cosmetic looks in mind don't buy this one.

I took a 4 # Brown on one of these reels (DH4000) set up to an 8' Shakespeare Intrepid rod with a 3/4 oz. Tasmanian Devil (my new fav). No hesitation in the hook set.Fish ran 3 times with plenty of aerials ,tailwalkin and all for 20 min.(light drag is the key here, ya can't horse em' in).Reel worked perfectly, giving and taking line as the fish tired.A little CPR and he's back in the water,I'll get him again! I cast maybe 1 or 2 hundred times when I'm out.Sure I get loops in my line but this reel sends the line back out tangle free everytime. It's not the only reel in my arsenal but it gets well used.I fish Tahoe all year and it can get pretty cold. The lake doesn't freeze but the water will freeze on your rig making for failure situations. The Wavespin worked perfect even below freezing. daledawg53@charter.net- Vets fish FREE Kids too!

What? Eliminates tangles? ...and here I thought I was the only one that made bird nests. Sign me up because this would greatly enhance my arsenal.

Not a good reel. The reel would not spool line all the way to the top of the spool. It's performance with braide line was not good.

have a DH5000 and a DH3000 Both great reels. Cast like a dream and no tangles. I have used te DH5000 in salt water for about a year now and it has held up great. These reels have the smoothest drag I have ever felt on a spinning reel.
