Jeff Cook, San Juan Capistrano, CA

Jeff Cook, San Juan Capistrano, CA: “The versatility, stability and ability to add so many accessories are why I recommend the Mirage Pro Angler.”

Gary Wheaton, White Bear Township, MN

“This is a great alternative for small waters. It had enough storage space to stow all my clothes, camping equipment and cooking gear for my annual wilderness ‘canoe’ trip. I would recommend it to anyone.”

I'm not all that concerned about large riverbank fishing (salmon) because of the people but would like to know if anyone out there has tried the pro angler on the mouth of the Chetco or Rouge (Oregon) and how did it handle? looks like it might be the ticket though. Anybody out there tried it?

I would love to test this product. I live in Texas and travel too a lot of back water places that I could possibly get this in to. Any chance of testing one of the Hobie's if there is an adventure series or something of that nature, that would be awesome.

Best of luck fishing!

Hobie Mirage Pro Angler is the Cadillac of kayaks and every kayaker's dream. It offers the option of either paddling or peddling if you want your hands free for casting. I own two kayaks and hope to own a Hobie some day. Untill then I'll keep paddling and dreaming of the day I can peddle as well.

I've heard a lot about of good about the PA and would love to test it out!! I am a kayak fisherman. I currently have an old style Perception Prism that is a very fast yak, but not as stable for fishing as a lot of other ones are. If I had a choice to test 10 things or just this one, my choice would be the Hobie Pro Angler hands down.

I just got one 2 months ago and have used it 3 times. The hobie is harder to get back out of the lake than to put in. I like the peddle drive system and can troll at 2mpr with ease. My last trip on a larger lake I fished for 3hrs and 2-1/2 miles of water covered.

I own this kayak and two others. I have fished it in Canada and both East and West Coast and also the Gulf. It is an awsome rig. The only draw back is how heavy it is on dry land. On the water it moves very proficiently. I can move just as fast on average strokes as my Hobie Revolution. I'm 6'0 200lbs and I can stand and fly fish from it also. The only thing it does not offer that a boat does is the speed at which you can get from point A to B. However a boat can not go where I go nor does it have the stealth. Most kayak places have free paddle days to demo what they sell. Of all that is on the market I believe the Hobie drive system the best all around. As far as the testing I'm a life member have been for a while just got a 199.99 reel to test. It's the first thing that I would not consider a trinket to test, however getting the mag and using the web site has more than payed for subscription.
