The E-Z Cast reel’s Anti-Backlash System (ABS) automatically throttles down the spool during a cast, preventing an overrun. This gives novice anglers confidence using a baitcasting reel; later, the ABS can be turned off for standard casting. This combo joins the E-Z Cast to a 6-foot medium-power rod. I'd like to test this for my son at the age of 10 never used a bait caster tryed to let him use my penn but he has troubles as Brad was saying a 4 year old can use it pretty sure my son could

i personaly have not had any luck using a baitcaster,too many times when one is truely needed.maybe with this one even i could learn how to use one.i plan on getting one to try.thank you for info on this

I would like to try it out because my buddy uses bait caster reels he tells once you get the hang of it you will never go back. This sounds like a good one to get started. Thank you

I would like to try this out, I have been wanting to try to use a bait cast but am not very good and wind up making more birds nest then fishing.

I have one and I really like it. There is only one drawback you need a good bit of weight when using the anti backlash otherwise you cant cast it.
