This biodegradable fishing line decomposes after five years in water or open air; typical monofilament takes 600 years. However, it performs like standard mono with outstanding knot strength and abrasion resistance for the initial 10 to 12 months. Bioline is available in 4- to 20-pound test and packaged in air- and watertight packaging. Contact Eagle Claw at (303) 321-1481; biolinefishing.com.

“This line is not only environmentally friendly, it is fisherman friendly. It’s easy to spool and fish.”

Jimmy Chaney, Western Grove, AR

“This meets Eagle Claw’s high standards for fishing line. It has good strength and abrasion resistance, and I like the fact it will biodegrade in five years.”

don't you think that if you dont fish very often, you would have to change the line every year?
