I JUST FINISHED USING THE BERKLY MINI SPOOLER AND I JUST WORKS GREAT I HAVE OTHER SPOOLERS INCLUDING A COMMERCIAL ONE BUT THIS SPOOLER IS GREAT IN THAT IT IS HANDIER AND EASY TO USE . I HAVE ARTHRITIS AND THIS UNIT MAKES RESPOOLING A ROD A VERY SIMPLE TASK. IT IS EASY TO STORE IN A TACKLE BOX OR BACK PACK OR ON YOUR BOAT AND IS READY AND EASY TOUSE AT ANY TIME YOU NEED TO RESPOOL A ROD I WENT BACK AND BOUGHT 4 MORE SO I CAN TAKE THEM WITH ME IN ALL MY TACKLE BOXES AND ESPECIALLY WHEN I GO UP NORTH HERE IN ONTARIO FISHING AND ICE FISHING IN WINTER . SOME OF THE PEOPLE I FISH WITH ARE HEADING OUT TO GET THEM AS WELL THEY SEEN THE MINI SPOOLER AT WORK AND WERE GREATLY IMPRESSED WITH IT ONE GUY OWNS A BAIT SHOP IN THE NORTH AND IS GOING TO BUY THEM AT THE $4.99 + TAX AND RE SELLTHEM FOR $9.99 +TAX AT HIS SHOP ON THE LAKE UP NORTH THANKS BERKLY FOR A GREAT FISHING ACCESSORY IT WAS LONG OVER DO

Although this seems easy to use, does it create line coil while relining? Also, how is the line memory after, lets say a few months use? These issues seem more important than just the easy use.

At a little over 5 bucks (with tax) it's a no-brainer. The tension adjustment keeps the line from coiling and kinking when transfering to your reel. Works like a champ. I will probably get a couple more.

I would like to test this item, seems it would make re-spooling reels easier.

i have one i brought at wal-mart its very easy to use and holds tension on the line its fast and easy they do not coast very much easy to store in a tackle box buy one its worth the money

YA KNOW WHEN EVER I WAS JUST A MEMBER I GOT A FEW HOOKS IN THE MAil & a worm bag or a folder ,,,but since ive been a life member i have not recieved anything to test ,,or anything else for those of you who may care

line tension dose not stop line coil or spool mermory at all the way the line
comes off the spool dose top or bottom dose s line coil mermory is age
tell of line bining too old most of the time like i said old tec made one years ago like in 1970 most of tools like that are not new just better tec
made i do test fishing products all the time some i buy some i dount
some i goten were great some not worth the time to talk about at all
jurts like some lines i have used bad right from the spool others jist loaded wrong my bad i been fishing for most of my life still got a lot to learn about it

with a pole line hook fish for alot of diffent fish watch gaters grouw longer
boat still aint big enought but ill fish till i die i eat fish i catch enjoy seeing poeple enjoying the water so get out ther and fish enjoy life ive fish 50 yrs and

nstorms no it does not create coils or kinks i have used mine for a while and have had no problems at all. the only way you would get line memory will be from your reel as the spooler just holds the spool of line while you spool it onto the reel and the spooler is not on the rod afterwards.it is very easy to use and is excellant when ice fishing as you are not chasing a spool of line all over your ice hut and also if you need to respool a rod while fishing in a boat you don't have a spool rolling around or the need for someone to hold a spool for you an it is very easy for you to keep the proper tension on the line while respooling under your control it is a great product a long time in comming. my friends and i are really happy with the berkely mini spooler and tere is about fifty of us

i bought one-it didn't work as advertised. i wouldn't buy another, it didn't work on all rods and reels.
