Anchored by an aluminum frame and gear side cover, the completely new designed Energy spinning reel is lightweight and tough, thanks to state-of-the art architectural features including a graphite Hybrid Razor Rotor.
By borrowing the sort of weight-reducing design features Quantum made famous with the launch of EXO, the totally redesigned Energy loses weight in the rotor, stem and crank handle.
Speaking of handles, each new Energy spinning reel is built with the option of either a right or left hand direct drive retrieve.
The main shaft is made of aluminum for lightweight durability, and a performance tuned carbon stainless ceramic drag system, unique to Quantum, performs flawlessly no matter how much heat is applied during a drag-screaming run from a big fish.
Further unique to Quantum’s Performance Tuned durability is a bend resistant, nickel titanium bail wire that has a lifetime warranty. Lifetime warranties are great, but let’s face it -- a bail wire that doesn’t get bent and ruin a fishing trip is even better -- and that’s the sort of reliability Quantum has delivered here.
Quantum has also placed an extra spool packed into the box of every new Energy, and it will hold 125 yards of 20-pound braid. Given braid’s popularity, Quantum dresses the spool with a rubber ‘braid band’ that allows anglers to tie directly to the spool with no fear of slippage.
Available in sizes 15, 25 and 30, and packed with 11 premium stainless bearings, the new Energy will retail for around $139.
