Fort Smith, Ark. – The Bomber Long A has long been the premier hard-plastic minnow lure for many different species, and six new color patterns designed to reproduce the multi-color reflection of baitfish scales makes these lures even more effective no matter where you’re fishing. The new color patterns were designed to produce the prism-like properties of scales from a number of baitfish, making them universally appealing in different water colors, for a variety of predator fish, and even in both salt and freshwater.
The reflective property of scales is a triggering mechanism for predator fish. While a baitfish’s belly may be white to camouflage it from below and its back may be black to do the same when viewed from above, it’s the scales that give it away. Bomber built this triggering mechanism into the six new color patterns. The color patterns are: Citrus Minnow, Chartreuse Shiner, Flip Shad, Royal Flush, Jade Minnow and Baby Drum.
Citrus Minnow features a green iridescence to produce a powerful glow that’s effective in low-light and off-color water conditions. Chartreuse Shiner glows bright for off-colored water and very low light, but many predator fish also like this pattern in super-clear water. Flip Shad is loaded with iridescence in multiple colors to reflect a different color depending on the angle it’s viewed under water. As it turns, Flip Shad produces an entire color scale. Royal Flush uses a purple that reflects UV light so no matter how low the light or dirty the water, fish will still get a flash of color. Jade Minnow features a heavy green iridescent underlay with a bone scale over it to reflect a deep green, jade-like look. Baby Drum reflects a more red or copper color pattern that can mimic a redfish, white sucker, golden shiner and many other baitfish, making it effective in any number of waters.
These new color patterns are available in the 14A (3 ½ inches) and 15A (4 ½ inches) and in the deep running 24A. They also are available in the new 13A, a 2 ½-inch Long A that runs only 2 feet under the surface. The Bomber Long A series are known for their wide wobbles when trolled and erratic action when twitched. The Long A is designed to catch all types of predator fish, and is equipped with high-quality trebles and hardware to stand up to the toughest fighters.
About Bomber Lures – Bomber Lures was established in 1946 by Ike Walker and C.S. Tuberville, two fishing buddies who spent most of their time on North Texas impoundments filled with wood cover. The friends needed a lure that would dive deep, yet come through the brush and cover without snagging, so they put their heads together to create the first “Bomber” crankbait, a torpedo-shaped crankbait with a metal lip crafted from tobacco cans. Today Bomber Lures manufactures some of the most legendary crankbaits on the market, including the Fat Free Shad and Long A.
