EUFAULA, Ala.—Never a company to rest on its laurels, Humminbird is launching Bow 360, a new bow-mounted version of the company’s 360 Imaging™ technology.
At last year’s ICAST, Humminbird formally introduced 360 Imaging™, cutting-edge technology that provides anglers with complete around-the-boat, underwater imagery up to 150 feet in every direction. A huge hit in the tech world, it was heralded by esteemed Popular Science magazine as a “Best New Product” in their recreational electronics division.
The initial 360 product launch catered to anglers who prefer to transom-mount boat accessories via a Transducer Deployment System (TDS) that attaches to the boat transom or jackplate. TDS lowers the transducer below the bottom of the boat and outboard to ensure an unobstructed underwater view.
Yet, many anglers, pros, guides and weekend enthusiasts alike immediately asked for a bow version of 360.
“From the very start, we knew anglers would fall into two camps—those who’d want it on the transom and those who’d prefer it on the bow. So our R&D worked closely with bass pros—KVD in particular—to create the perfect system for bow deployment via easy trolling motor mounting. Now it’s here, offering tournament anglers a whole new level of spot and stalk style fishing from the front of the boat,” says Jeff Kolodzinski, brand manager, Humminbird.
“The applications are mind-blowing. Even from a stationary position anglers will now be able to view updated underwater images from around the entire boat, to key in on real-time movements of fish in and around cover like never before.”
This sonar accessory is exclusively compatible with current Humminbird Side Imaging-equipped models that are Ethernet-capable: 798, 898, 998 and 1198. Availability is expected later this summer.
