The NAFC Field Test Program, now powered by StuffStuff, has been greatly enhanced to offer you a much better gear- and tackle-testing experience.

StuffStuff.com evolved from the current NAFC Field Test program, and has been combined with many aspects of social media to develop countless opportunities for you to test and buy cutting-edge products. This is an exclusive online program that gives you more control over which items you want to test. Plus, you have the opportunity to become a product ambassador, which allows you to earn points towards additional elite product testing ventures, more often.

The more involved you become, the more eligible you’ll be to test products by writing reviews, posting photos and sharing them on Facebook and Twitter. i'm a life member 90272888 and signed up for stuff stuff several months ago. requested to test a 5.99 lure. still have not received a product to test. in the past it did not take several months to receive a product to test. im thinking since a did not pay extra for a trophy membership that i will not get to test any products. very dissapointed with naf.

I been a life memnber for years, #90343454, and have not been given any free stuff to test. I am eager to do so. I have been fishing for over 6 decadesnd and am highly regarded by many as an expert fisherman, with 3 records of White bass from New Mexico waters. I would appreciate testing some fishing gear. I fly fish as well as bait and spin fish.

cbathe, If you apply to test something and are selected to test it no, if you click the buy now button (if there is one on the product) then yes.

rhimes, by no means are you not being selected because you're not a Trophy member. Here's a quick tip for StuffStuff; apply to multiple items (up to 10) and it will increase your chance of being selected for one of them.

I"m a lifetime, Charter member. I think I've only ever had one item sent to me for testing in those years, so no, level of membership does not guarantee more or less for anyone.

The thing is to make sure you register or renew annually, if such things are required, or when the program changes. Details are online or in the magazine, or both, but such things are easily forgotten, especially by long-time members who signed up for testing when they joined. Things have changed over time, and re-registering to test has been required. I discovered that the hard way, so just keep an eye on the program, like you keep an eye on the tip of your rod.

The points system is used by many clubs. Some other clubs do require you to pay a discounted price, based on your points to test items. StuffStuff does NOT.

When you do go to join, it does toss a screen up that says you are registered, but that really means that you are registered as a member of NAFC.

You still have to complete the form, which will include a password for StuffStuff.

Then you'll need to complete the demographics and fishing habits sections on StuffStuff after you login on that site. As soon as you complete that initial registration form, it will kick you to a login screen.

I also belong to FishHound, the Army Bass Anglers and the Army Red Fish Anglers. This is the only program for members, that I have seen so far, that does not require any money from members for testing.

In fact, as a Charter & Lifetime Member, I can honestly say that this program at NAFC has NEVER required a purchase.

To me, that is important because people are only going to "purchase" items that they know and trust, or already have a favorable opinion of in the first place.

Why would I pay a discounted price on something to test that I had no idea whether or not I'd like it? I'm spending my money, so for those programs, such as the one with FishHound, I'm not going to pay good, hard-earned money for something that I'm not sure I will like or use.

NAFC puts items in our hands that we don't pay for, and that allows us a clear mind to test the item and provide honest feedback that is never tainted with thoughts of "money thrown down the drain."

When you apply, just realize that there are roughly some 400,000 other NAFC members who are also putting in to test these same items. Whether it's first-come-first-served, or like a lottery where names are randomly drawn, I don't know, but there is a limit to one item testing at a time, so sooner or later, you will get the chance.

Practice the patience of a fisherman with this testing program, and you will likely be as happy and successful at testing as you are at fishing.

However, if you're a crappie fisherman (LOL, pun intended), then who knows?!?!? LOL

I've been a member for at least ten years of both the fisherman club and handyman club. I've upgraded my membership twice and now am a Lifetime Trophy Life member. There should be some kind of upgrade on testing. Now there's this STUFF STUFF. So , I played along and registered. I've only tested a cpple of things worth less than a few bucks each. I took the STUFF Stuff entry seriously, I registered for the SEA Eagle Kyack hoping to get it because I'm tired of fishing from the shore. So I worked and worked on my level and points. I'm past level 6 with over 600 points. I thought sure that I'd get the kyack. Well, it seems they gave it to someone else. When I wrote to them they tried to say I didn't register right. WEll HELL NO! Then they looked at my membership and said just keep registering for new items.
From what I'm reading not many people are getting anything of value to test. But when you read the magazine you see all these numbers of product testing going on. Where?!!!
I'm going to be really mad to find out that one of the club's officers' sister or boy friend has first dibbs on the good gear. It looks awfully fishy!!!! I guess that's because it's a fishing club. It smells of fish that's been laying around in the heat for weeks on end. I'm tired of it I want to find out what part of my dues I'd get back in a refund.
Maybe these people who say they've never gotten anything to test should do the same!!!

sir; jburroughs4...........waa waa waa....Does complaining often get you anywere....do reaally think that the owenership people keep ALL the goodies?
If you think that maybe our fishing club is better off without you, let them deduct any maj's and other goodies -10yrs membership.
I hope they will cut you a $12.98 cheque today, along with that sundryed carp with my wishes.......:)....tata/some people think they should get something ,we all cant win! that's why we hope and play these games i/e the lotto, do you complain there too? GROW UP YOUR ACTING LIKE A CHILD!

I've been a Life Member since 1994...not only have I never received anything to test, I've never even had my name posted in the Life Member Honor Roll...that's 19 years. Maybe I'll get to test something in the next 20 years (I'll be 80 by then)...probably a new bag of sinkers! Sometimes things get so big that the little people are forgotten.

Have the same problem, no testing products! This club just asks for more money, at least I'm not the only one being screwed! And, called them, took over half an hour, but at least got a person. They said the same script, not registered correctly on the web site for testing products. It sounds like a scam....

Im dissipointed with this "club" its a scam is what it is. Send u only bills for memberfees,promise you free welcome gifts, that youl never see. Make a big hype over product testing,while its only kurt beckstrom and his buddys that goes on fishing trips to places average joe cant afford to test their own products. Its all a joke.

In that time i have tested 4 items. i have gotten everything that was promised to me. it took awhile sometimes, but by in large i am well pleased. please remember that there are alot of use members try to test stuff. That by the way is sent to use FREE of any kind of costs. Except that we give are honest opinion about it.

so far i have tested a rod holder, for sleepy shore fishing.

I have been a life member since 4/17/1909, and when I ask they tell me as soon as they have somthing come up that will work for my area they will have me test it. I did not know that rods-reels-nets-and all the rest of it new where they were! The NAFC gets our money then they forget about us,if we had a big money makeing fishing show and made them a lot of money for them then we would be well liked and would be testing all sorts of gear! It is sad that they treat us like this,it is our dues that help keep them going.

I was told I was next onthe list to get a product 6 years ago. when stuff stuff started i signed with them and still nothing was offered trophy life membership I threw it out cause I never got what was promised with regular life membership. Dont know why am writing this it doesnt do any good any way they dont read this and dont care as long as they already got our money.

I would agree with a lot of you who have never tested anything. Although I did test 1 item, it came in my Life Member kit. As far as this stuff stuff thing goes, 20 years without ever testing something is for the birds!!!! They keep sending me these dang knives. I have sent them back, called and ask them to stop sending them, and without fail, I see they have already billed me for the one that will be coming. Another thing. I am a Life Member. I figured that was good enough! No.... Now they want me to become a Trophy Life Member! Give me a break. I'm about ready to call them, and tell them to cancel my life membership, that seems to keep costing me money.... Yes.... I'm a little upset with them!!!!

Hello all. I am a trophy lifetime member who has tested a few small items in the past with the old system. I did not join this club for the products by it is an added bonus. I have noticed that since moving to stuffstuff you do not have the same opportunities to test products. I feel that this process should be reviewed by the club. Stuffstuff is for anyone not just club members. If product testing is a selling point then we should be given priority on testing. Since moving to stuffstuff i have not tested any products. It would be nice if NAFC reviewed this process.

I have been with the club for several years and am a Trophy Life Member. I have tested 1 item before the switch to StuffStuff (a fishing pliers)and one after (3000 yard spool of Silver Tread Line, 8Lb test - Great line). I also won some tackle storage cases a few months ago.
Just be patient.

I did not join the club for the free stuff, that is just a bonus but I do agree with jeremyt

this is quite a racket,the letter you get wanting you to join the club doesn't say anything about "STUFF STUFF", nor does it say anything about POINTS nor does it mention "UPGRADING YOUR MEMBERSHIP"
WOW this is really something.. I haven't got the first magazine yet and I guess I'm doubting that I will get it.
Well $24.00 isn't to bad of a loss.,, OH I forgot I did get
5 hooks ,,probly shouldn't expect the other free gifts promised for signing up,, since I just found out that I have REQUEST them.. How does that happen that OH well it don't matter I wont do this again and i didn't join JUST for the freebies.

Hey folks instead of being upset about matters that will not change anything, lets pursue something that will benefit each other. I am glad to belong to a group of people that have alot of Great Fishing Stories about their trips and Great places to visit on vacation. We can share about where we got the most bang for our hard earned dollars. We can share some of our tricks as to how to pursue different fish weather fresh water, or salt water. Folks I am not dreaming just wanting to come together and help us to help ourselves.
I hope all of you have a Great Fishing Season this year.

Hi jburroughs4 – Wanted to reach out to you that I spoke with the StuffStuff Team and they are going to reach out to you via email, so watch for that. I had them look up your previous communications with them and they don’t have any emails from you asking about your application on the Sea Eagle Kayak so if you have anything, be sure to respond to them with that info.

It’s important for everyone to remember that the higher valued products do have higher competition. For some products we get thousands of units and others tens or hundreds. Usually, the higher valued products have fewer units and the lower valued products higher units. So if you have been applying for only the higher valued products, you have more competition than if you would be applying for the lower ticket items. If you are at a higher level, you have earned your right to test the higher valued products so you don't have to apply for lower ticket items, but do know there will be a longer wait line for the most popular products so we encourage for applying to test products at all levels. Hope that is a helpful tip for everyone!

Hey All, I wanted to provide some additional information on StuffStuff that might not be clear. The reason why StuffStuff was launched was because of the problems that many of you mentioned in our old program. After listening closely to our club members, we have found that members were not getting products to test in a timely manner and members were receiving products that they didn’t want or couldn’t use. This resulted in manufacturers not wanting their products in the old program because they weren’t getting the amount of feedback they needed. This new program gives manufacturers more exposure and in return, they insert more products to test in StuffStuff, which means more products for you to test. This gives you more control over your product testing experience to make of it what you want. StuffStuff accomplishes this be allowing you to apply to test products you are interested. It’s sort of raising your hand saying “pick me for this test!” It’s not a guarantee because there are a lot of you, but they are random selections and do give preference to those who have never tested before.

To increase your chances of being selected to test a product, StuffStuff recommends the following:
1. Use up the maximum number of applications. You can apply for 10 products at a time.
2. Apply for products in all levels that you are eligible for. For some products StuffStuff gest thousands of units and others tens or hundreds. Usually, the higher valued products have fewer units and the lower valued products higher units. So if you have been applying for only the higher valued products, you have more competition than if you would be applying for the lower ticket items. If you are at a higher level, you have earned your right to test the higher valued products so you don't have to apply for lower ticket items, but do know there will be a longer wait line for the most popular products so it is encouraged to apply to test products at all levels.
3. Actively visit the site and maintain your active applications. When you are not selected to test a product, your application is removed freeing up another spot on your list.

jeremyt - I'm sorry you haven't tested a product on StuffStuff yet. Looks like you have have recently applied for 2 product tests. To maximize your chances of being selected keep the following tips in mind:

1. Use up the maximum number of applications. You can apply for 10 products at a time.
2. Apply for products in all levels that you are eligible for. For some products StuffStuff gest thousands of units and others tens or hundreds. Usually, the higher valued products have fewer units and the lower valued products higher units. So if you have been applying for only the higher valued products, you have more competition than if you would be applying for the lower ticket items. If you are at a higher level, you have earned your right to test the higher valued products so you don't have to apply for lower ticket items, but do know there will be a longer wait line for the most popular products so it is encouraged to apply to test products at all levels.
3. Actively visit the site and maintain your active applications. When you are not selected to test a product, your application is removed freeing up another spot on your list.

wow what a bunch of mouse fishermen nothing better to do than cry because you havent gotton free stuff.try what i do go to the lake set up some bank poles and catch winter catfish since jan2 i have landed 69 good size cats.i dont have time to test free stuff

I wish we would be asked if we want to buy a product before being sent to us(i.e. books,knives,calendars,etc.).Such a pain t deal with sending all this stuff back.I do like some of the stuff but get alot of stuff I would rather not have sent to me.I would still buy books that I think I would use(member cookbook and some of the fishing books).I just think it is a nuisance having all this stuff sent to me.Please change the way you solicit the members to purchase items.

I am very disipointed with nafc and the so called stuff stuff. I have tried three things with this so called testing organization.The first thing was not sent to me for some reason. They sent me a replacement lure. but I could not give an assementment on it. I wrote a responce on some fishing line they gave me on fricking feburary,but i tried to fish it anyway. the report was ok,but not a great one. Thats why It's not posted i guess.If NAFC wants to loose my business, thats fine,but they are going to loose alot more after people find out about this so called stuff stuff!!!

StuffStuff works great I've bin a member for 3 months and have tested something all ready , just apply for a lot of products.

How do you apply for products to test? I have already paid the dues and have recieved gifts from the club but would like to field test some products.
