New Year’s Resolutions typically focus on self improvement. This year, along with vowing to lose weight or stop smoking, why not resolve to become a better fisherman? It’ll be a lot more fun and the end result just as rewarding. Try these resolutions on for size.
Improve Your Sonar Skills
What separates great anglers from good ones is their ability to interpret and use the information they get from their sonar. Before your fishing season heats up, vow to read and study your unit’s operating manual, then practice on the water—without your fishing rod.
Hone Your Presentation
You catch fish by putting a lure or bait into a fish’s strike zone. Become a better angler by learning to cast, flip and pitch more accurately. If you’re a troller, determine the running depth of each of your lures. Aim to make every presentation as accurate as possible.
Share The Love
While you advance your skills, vow to make the sport better by promising to introduce someone to fishing. Take the Angler’s Legacy Pledge now.
