After they spawn, bass are beat up, exhausted and not very willing to take on big lures or pursue aggressive retrieves. But when catching a limt is a drop-dead serious matter, certain presentations ge the nod. Limit baits also come through after cold fronts, and when bass are under heavy fishing pressure.
